I liked you picture of us in a crevasse - Thankfully not to many of them around the south pole. The temperature today is -79 F and with the wind blowing it feels like -120 F. It's not too bad if you have all the right clothing on.  You asked about how fast a cup of water will freeze - If you threw a boiling cup of water into the air it would freeze instantly and turn into snow - It's really quite cool.
