Stars are nuclear furnaces which change abundances.

Need to study material which has not been subjected to any stellar re-processing.

Best place is clouds in the IGM at moderate redshift

Use QSO as backlight and examine absorption lines caused by intervening gas clouds

Need huge telescope and ultra resolution spectrometers
