Probing the Expansion History


For a given set of parameters we know the expansion history.

We can therefore calculate how bright objects of a given luminosity should appear at given redshift.

Supernova provide a set of objects with known luminosity - "standard candles".

By measuring their brightness we can map out the expansion...
